Minimum Requirements

Windows 3.1, 4 Mb RAM.

Windows 95/98/NT (version 2.0), 8 Mb RAM recommended

Hints and Tips

If you are using an old computer such as a 486 of earlier, try not to add too many comments to a share file. The more data you enter the longer it will take to open the file.

With Windows 3.1 you may wish to use the smartdrv.exe program to speed up file handling. Set the cache at 2 Mb or 4Mb. This can significantly increase the access speed for your share files, particularly when using portfolio’s or preparing reports. To use smartdrv add the following line to your autoexec.bat file and then reboot your computer.

        C:\Windows\smartdrv.exe 2048

Refer to your DOS help for more details, by typing

        HELP SMARTDRV at the dos prompt.

You should not use these settings for Windows 95/98/NT and above.

The Windows 95/98/NT version provides improved displays, and contains Windows 95 style lists and displays.
